Ian Mowbray

I am Ian, and I’m Managing Director of Gas and Utility Technology. It fills me with pride to have watched the company grow and diversify over a twenty-three-year period of trading. My background was in gas engineering and having learnt my trade with British Gas, I formed Gas and Utility Technology in 1996.

I spend much of my day maintaining contact with clients, as well as mentoring Gareth with his water-based designs.

Away from business life, I am a keen gardener and have a hand for motorcar engine repair too. Otherwise I enjoy spending time at home.

Alan Shaw

As a company Director, my main role is to ensure the efficient running of Gas and Utility Technology. Although my day consists of many varying tasks, I focus on developing existing staff knowledge and learning, as well as managing project timescales, along with maintaining our existing built up business relationships. Although I encourage my staff to coordinate the construction process of their projects, I am on hand to aid if required. I am also heavily involved with designing infrastructure networks for existing projects.

Shona Allan

I am Office Manager at Gas and Utility Technology, my responsibilities involve overseeing all HR aspects, ensuring account issues run smoothly, technical administration and general office organisation. Having served the company for 13 years, I have enjoyed watching the company develop through the years.

I specifically enjoy the company of friends, though I look forward to spending my Sunday’s with family at home in Burntisland.

Jonathan White

Hi, my name is Jonathan, having joined Gas and Utility Technology at the beginning of 2018, and I am enjoying the responsibility of looking after business development and marketing. After graduating from university with a marketing degree, my immediate background was in the property management industry.

So far with Gas and Utility Technology I have been enjoying developing new relationships with clients and the client interaction that goes with it, as well as planning various marketing techniques.

In my own time, my life passion is skiing, but closer to home however I am a keen follower of my local football team. I also enjoy watching documentaries and films, keeping up with current political issues as well as volunteering my time in a soup kitchen.

Gareth Thomas

Hi, I’m Gareth, my role at Gas and Utility Technology is to design and coordinate the water networks for our projects. I joined the team in 2016 after graduating in Mechanical Engineering. Having enjoyed learning about the industry and applying the skills I learnt from University to real life situations, I plan to continually expand my industry capabilities. Daily, I design water networks, and coordinate subsequent construction of my designed systems along with organising the occasional visit to the site.

Away from my desk, I am an avid gamer, I particularly enjoy exploring new technologies and fire poi. Podcasts are also a pleasant enjoyment of mine, as I appreciate listening to varying views on current issues.

David Campbell

Having joined Gas and Utility Technology in June 2018, after directing my own engineering consultancy company for many years it was time for a fresh challenge. With a wealth of experience in multi utility engineering, in particualr electrical networks, I daily assemble multi utility networks for large scale projects.

Interpersonally, I enjoy delivering operational excellence, and skilled in strategy and a results driven individual.

I am also a bit of a socialiser, who enjoys football alongwith keeping up with my grown up family.

Iain Paton

My name is Iain, along with Shaun, I am an Autocad Technician. Likewise, to my colleague, I joined Gas and Utility Technology earlier this year, and have been busy drawing live gas pipelines.

My background has predominately been architecture, focusing on architecture schematics. Unfortunately, my previous firm ceased to exist, allowing me to use my developed design skills applying them to gas infrastructure.

In my down time, I very much enjoy testing my mind by playing problem solving physics games.
